What Is Monster Survivors?

Monster Survivors is a free browser-based survival game in the bullet-heaven tradition. You are dropped into an open arena while wave after wave of monsters closes in from every direction. Your weapons fire automatically — your job is to keep moving, sweep up the experience gems that defeated enemies leave behind, and pick the right upgrade every time you level up.

Runs are short, chaotic, and dangerously replayable. Early minutes feel easy; by the ten-minute mark the screen is a storm of enemies and projectiles, and every upgrade decision matters. One more attempt always feels justified.

The game runs on Unity WebGL right here at OneTapGames. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure — the page you are on is the whole game.

How to Play

  1. Move to survive. Use WASD or the arrow keys on desktop, or drag anywhere on the screen on mobile. Your character attacks automatically, so positioning is everything.
  2. Collect experience gems. Defeated monsters drop glowing gems. Sweep through them to fill your XP bar — but don't take a bad fight just to grab one.
  3. Choose your upgrades. Each level-up offers a choice of weapons and boosts. Stack the ones that complement each other instead of spreading thin.
  4. Outlast the waves. Enemies grow faster, tougher, and more numerous the longer you last. Survive the milestone bosses and see how deep into the run you can push.

Tips to Survive Longer

  • Never stop moving. Standing still is how runs end. Circle wide around the monster herd instead of cutting through it.
  • Take movement speed early. It is the quietest upgrade on the list and the one that saves your run when the screen fills up.
  • Commit to synergies. Two upgrades that feed each other beat four that don't. Decide on a build by your first few level-ups and stick to it.
  • Farm gems on your terms. Herd enemies into a line, clear them, then loop back for the gems along a safe path.
  • Respect the bosses. When a milestone boss spawns, clear yourself room first. Getting pinned between a boss and the crowd is the classic run-killer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Monster Survivors free to play?

Yes — completely free, with no account and no hidden purchases. Open the page and play.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The game supports touch controls — just drag on the screen to move. For the best experience, rotate your phone to landscape and use the fullscreen button.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Monster Survivors runs on Unity WebGL directly in your browser. Any up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox works.

Does my progress carry over between runs?

Each run starts fresh — that is the roguelite format. The skill you build up, however, carries over just fine.

The game won't load. What should I do?

Refresh the page first. If it still won't start, make sure your browser is up to date, disable aggressive content blockers for this site, and check that you are on a stable connection — the game files take a few seconds to download on the first visit.
